Fantasy Impact: Rizzo fractured two fingers after he was hit by a pitch at the end of the regular season. He has yet to resume any baseball activities. He could return for the ALCS if the Yankees were to advance.

Fantasy Impact: Javier underwent Tommy John surgery back in June so it'll be a little more than one year from that point. He'll likely be available for the final two months of the regular season next year.

Fantasy Impact: Fried allowed five runs on eight hits across two innings. The Padres swept the Braves on Wednesday as San Diego advances to play the Dodgers in the NLDS.
Colton Cowser left Wednesday's game early with left hand pain.
Fantasy Impact: Cowser was hit by a pitch and swung which resulted in a strikeout. The Orioles were swept by the Royals, so he'll look to get fully healthy in the offseason.

Fantasy Impact: Alvarez is back after missing the end of the regular season with a right knee sprain. The left-handed slugger will bat second and occupy the designated hitter spot against Detroit ace Tarik Skubal Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact: Alvarez was removed from Friday's game after appearing shaken up after sliding into third base. He was diagnosed with back spasms, but it is encouraging to see improvement just one day later. Luis Torrens will take over behind the plate.

Fantasy Impact: Frelick suffered the injury after colliding with the outfield wall on Friday. The Brewers will wait and see how he feels in hopes that he feels better in time for the first round of the playoffs.

The Giants activated Randy Rodriguez from the 15-day IL.
Fantasy Impact: Rodriguez had been on the injured list since the middle of August. Mason Black was optioned as the corresponding move.
The Athletics activated Ross Stripling from the 15-day IL.
Fantasy Impact: Stripling had been on the injured list for the past few weeks. He could make an appearance this weekend.
Th Twins activated Kody Funderburk from the 60-day IL.
Fantasy Impact: Funderburk returns from a three-month absence for the final series of the season. He had been sidelined due to a strained oblique.
The Marlins placed Declan Cronin on the 15-day IL with left knee tendinitis.
Fantasy Impact: Cronin had previously been dealing with the knee injury back in August as well. His season officially ends with a 4.35 ERA across 70 1/3 innings with Miami.
