Darrin Walls

Week 12 Outlook
Availability
For the third straight game, the New York Jets are conducting a practice competition for the two starting jobs. Darrin Walls joins the fray after missing the last two games with a calf injury, so it's a three-man battle between Walls, Marcus Williams and Phillip Adams. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Walls start ahead of Adams.
Fantasy Impact
Despite Walls being an upgrade on both Adams and Williams, he isn't a trustworthy player as part of a fragile Jets secondary.
Darrin Walls is out of the New York Jets' game on Sunday, and will not travel with the team to Kansas City. He is sidelined with a calf injury and hasn't trained all week.
Fantasy Impact
While the news is bad for the New York Jets as they've lost another cornerback to injury, the fantasy implications are pretty minimal as Walls isn't good enough or plays on a good enough defense to warrant a roster spot on IDP teams.
Cornerback Darrin Walls has what head coach Rex Ryan described Monday as a "patellar tendon problem." Walls left Sunday's game in the first half, though he hurt the knee on the Chargers' first series. "It happened after the first long pass of the game," Ryan said. "He played through it a little bit, but we'll see how he progresses through the week." Walls only played 21 of a possible 74 snaps on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
If it wasn't for injuries, Walls would find himself lower down the cornerback pecking order. He isn't really a player you want to have or be looking at in fantasy - especially as he is part of a very shaky Jets secondary.
Jets cornerback Darrin Walls missed Tuesday's practice session with a minor leg injury. Head coach Rex Ryan said that the player was 'fine', and is not concerned with the injury. Walls is the assumed starter for New York's season opener against the Raiders, and Ryan wants to make sure that the cornerback is ready to go Week 1.
Fantasy Impact
The Jets will most likely have been holding their breath over the health of Walls, after the recent speight of injuries and a suspension has left them thin at the cornerback position. Walls could turn out to be a solid fantasy pick-up if he plays well throughout the season, but he should be left to see how he pans out before claiming him off waivers.
Darrin Walls will replace Ellis Lankster at cornerback, as the Jets take on the Giants in Friday's MetLife Bowl. Lankster has been playing with the first-team recently after injuries to Dimitri Patterson and Dee Milliner.
Fantasy Impact
The Jets are probably starting Walls to see what they've got, and to test Walls as a member of the first-team. Walls is around fifth on the depth chart, and won't likely see much time on defense unless there are injuries. For this reason, he doesn't have any fantasy value and should be avoided in drafts.
