Tim Adelman pitched six innings of three run baseball Wednesday against the Diamondbacks. Adelman also struck out seven and walked none. While it may not seem like a fantastic outing it was a very solid outing against a good team that can hit the ball quite well. The Reds won the game in the 11th inning 4-3.
Fantasy Impact
Tim Adelman does not carry much fantasy value even though he's been one of the Reds more consistent pitchers; however that is not saying too much. Adelman could be streamed in a plus matchup but doesn't offer much in the way of strikeouts. No need to read anything into this start. Leave Adelman on the free agent list.
Tim Adleman took the loss Sunday as the Reds lost to the Cubs 6-2. Adleman pitched five innings allowing three earned runs. Adleman dropped to 5-5 on the season with a 4.67 ERA.
Fantasy Impact
Tim Adleman has been one of the more consistent starting pitchers for the Reds this season. However that is not exactly a compliment given the Reds starting rotation this year. Adleman should not be considered in anything smaller than a 14 team league and even at that point he is only a streaming candidate at best.
Adleman lasted just 3.1 innings on Thursday night, allowing two earned runs on three hits before leaving the game with an oblique strain. He struck out three and walked two, with the big blow coming off the bat of Carlos Santana, who hit the first of his two home runs off Adleman in the 4th inning. The Reds couldn't muster much offense off Josh Tomlin, and lost yet again, this time by a count of 7-2.
Fantasy Impact
Adleman isn't a fantasy-worthy play at any rate, but with the Reds' rotation already banged up, it will be interesting to see what happens if Adleman is forced to miss his next start. Keep your eye on this situation and potential effect on the rest of the rotation if Adleman can't make his next scheduled start Tuesday at the Dodgers.
Tim Adleman pitched five innings on Saturday, allowing three earned runs on eight hits. He walked a pair of batters and struck out three while throwing just 67 pitches. The Reds couldn't muster much run support against Aaron Nola, although they had a chance in the 9th against David Hernandez, scoring one run, but falling just short as Eugenio Suarez was gunned down at the plate for the final out in a 4-3 Phillies win.
Fantasy Impact
As evidenced by him throwing just 67 pitches over five innings, Adleman isn't a player that you should be interested in for any but the deepest of seasonal leagues. He has pitched well in each start, but has limited upside, and as you know by now, you can't rely on this Reds bullpen to lock down a min at any time. His next chance will come Thursday against the Indians.
Adleman posted a solid start again for the Reds, allowing just one earned run over five innings of work. He gave up four hits, walked three, and struck out four in the Reds' 5-1 win over Milwaukee. Alex Presley took him yard in the 5th inning for the Brewers' only run. He has now pitched well in both starts since his call up.
Fantasy Impact
With so much uncertainty in the Reds' rotation, Adleman will eventually be one of the odd men out. He is a player who should remain on the wire in your season long leagues at this time. He is worth a shot as a cheap pitcher in some daily leagues, but his ceiling is limited. The Reds welcome the Pirates to town next, and barring the unlikely return of either Homer Bailey or Anthony DeSclafani by that time, we should see Adleman draw another start Wednesday.
