Availability
Bowen Byram has been traded to the Buffalo Sabres by the Colorado Avalanche.
Fantasy Impact
In the exchange, the Sabres sent Casey Middlestadt to Colorado. Byram gives the Sabres another talented blueliner to pair with Owen Power and Rasmus Dahlin as the club makes a serious push towards a wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. Byram has posted 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists) to go along with 60 hits in 55 games so far this season.
Bowen Byram was able to light the lamp for the Avalanche Thursday night, scoring two goals in a 6-3 loss to the Lightning.
Fantasy Impact
Byram has been solid in the offensive zone of late, picking up points in three of his last six games (two goals, three assists) for the Avalanche. The blueliner will look to continue his recent success in the offensive zone after struggling mightily for much of the season, picking up just 17 points (eight goals, nine assists) while also racking up 55 hits in 47 games so far this season.
Bowen Byram filled up the stat sheet on Friday as the Avalanche fell 3-2 to the visiting Seattle Kraken. He tallied a goal, an assist, a plus-2 rating, two PIMs, two shots, two hits and two blocks.
Fantasy Impact
The goal came from a 3-on-1 that was created on the penalty kill by some hard Logan O'Connor board play to get the puck over the blue line. Valeri Nichushkin skated with the puck and found a late-trailing Byram who fired it from the top of the circle and banked it off the post past Philipp Grubauer. Byram now has two goals and four points through the first five games and is looking like a nice pick for fantasy managers defensive corps early in the season.
Bowen Byram provided two assists, a plus-3 rating, two hits and two blocks helping Colorado defeat L.A. 9-3.
Fantasy Impact
Although he didn't find the back of the net his presence was noticeable. He looked like he was skating much more comfortably and smooth while leading break outs. If he can stay healthy he is a major boost to an already Cale Makar-led defensive corps. He might be available on the wire in public leagues for the playoffs. He has five goals and 16 points through 22 games played.
Bowen Byram will suit up for the Avalanche tonight with Colorado travelling to Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins.
Fantasy Impact
This will help boost the Avalanche defensive corps and is welcomed sight after he had been sidelined since January 10th due to lingering head issues. He recently had to two conditioning-games in the AHL with the Colorado Eagles. He has five goals and 11 points this year for the Avalanche.
