Charles Sims placed on IRVeteran running back Charles Sims, who re-signed with the club this offseason, has been placed on injured reserve by the Tampa Bay Bucs. Sims apparently hurt his knee blocking on a kickoff return during Tampa's second preseason game. The injury wasn't believed to be serious at the time, so it's possible that Sims will be released and have a shot at joining another club. In 16 games last season, Sims only rushed for 95 yards and caught 35 passes.
Fantasy Impact
Sims has been phased out of Tampa's offense since he peaked in 2015. When healthy, he might be able to latch on to another squad as a reserve, change-of-pace option. His release is a good development for struggling rookie Ronald Jones, Jacquizz Rodgers, Dare Ogunbawale, and undrafted free agent Shaun Wilson.
