Charles Sims placed on IR

Veteran running back Charles Sims, who re-signed with the club this offseason, has been placed on injured reserve by the Tampa Bay Bucs. Sims apparently hurt his knee blocking on a kickoff return during Tampa's second preseason game. The injury wasn't believed to be serious at the time, so it's possible that Sims will be released and have a shot at joining another club. In 16 games last season, Sims only rushed for 95 yards and caught 35 passes. (Rick Stroud via Twitter )
Fantasy Impact:
Sims has been phased out of Tampa's offense since he peaked in 2015. When healthy, he might be able to latch on to another squad as a reserve, change-of-pace option. His release is a good development for struggling rookie Ronald Jones, Jacquizz Rodgers, Dare Ogunbawale, and undrafted free agent Shaun Wilson.
