Tyler Goodson
RB - Indianapolis Colts
This Week Outlook
Availability
The Indianapolis Colts are signing RB Tyler Goodson to a one-year contract extension, keeping him around through the 2025 season.
Fantasy Impact
For Goodson, the term "extension" feels a bit misleading, as he was set to be a free agent this offseason, making this effectively a one-year deal. Signed initially to Indy's practice squad, Goodson was set to be an exclusive-rights free agent in 2025 as his two-year deal expired. After career-best stats (214 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns on 132 offensive snaps), Goodson is sticking around for at least one more year as depth and a special teams option.
Tyler Goodson ran for 51 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries in the Colts 16-10 win over the Dolphins.
Fantasy Impact
After Trey Sermon had previously led the backfield in the absence of Jonathan Taylor, it was Goodson who led the way on Sunday. Goodson will remain a flex play for as long as Taylor is sidelined.
Tyler Goodson carried the ball eight times for a team-high 51 yards while also catching four of five targets for 14 yards in the Colts' 20-17 win over the Titans in Week 6.
Fantasy Impact
Goodson capitalized on the absence of starting running back Jonathan Taylor, averaging 6.4 yards per carry on the day. The running back will likely be relegated to a change of pace role out of the backfield at best once Taylor returns, with a favorable Week 7 contest against the Miami Dolphins ahead.
Tyler Goodson carried the ball five times for 26 yards and added three catches for 31 yards in a 37-34 loss to the Jaguars in Week 5.
Fantasy Impact
Goodson mixed in as the backup behind starter Trey Sermon with Jonathan Taylor (ankle) inactive. Goodson should continue to see a handful of touches behind Sermon for as long as Taylor is injured. The Colts will take on the Titans in Week 6.
Tyler Goodson has made Indianapolis' 53-man roster.
Fantasy Impact
Goodson, a former undrafted free agent, has made the official 53-man roster for the Colts. He had an impressive offseason, and the team believes that he will contribute some valuable depth. He probably isn't relevant for fantasy purposes, however.
