Running back Shaun Wilson is reportedly being placed on injured reserve by the Washington Redskins as they continue to trim down their active roster to 53.

Fantasy Impact

Wilson only has a sprained ankle, but Washington is placing him on injured reserve to essentially give him a redshirt year and retain his rights. Washington has a crowded running back room, and Wilson was unlikely to make the team barring multiple injuries.

Buccaneers RB Shaun Wilson rushed for 44 yards on seven attempts and caught 2-of-4 targets for 24 yards in the preseason finale against the Jaguars.

Fantasy Impact

While Ronald Jones struggles, it was Wilson, an undrafted rookie, continues to shine this preseason. With Charles Sims on IR, Wilson could not only find himself on the final roster, but he could ultimately carve out a role, especially if there is not any improvement from Jones. Despite the good vibes, Wilson is an upside Dynasty stash and has no redraft value, however.
