Ryquell Armstead
RB -
Week 13 Outlook
Availability
Ryquell Armstead was one of 10 roster cuts made by the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday.
Fantasy Impact
Armstead only appeared in two games in 2021 after missing the entire 2020 season with COVID-19 related issues. The 25-year-old was in a competition with Snoop Conner and Mekhi Sargent and the Armstead was the odd man out. Armstead will now look to catch on with another team that is in need of some running back depth.
Former Jacksonville Jaguars RB Ryquell Armstead was waived by the New York Giants on Thursday, per Dan Salomone on Twitter.
Fantasy Impact
Armstead missed the entire 2020 season in Jacksonville on the league's IR/COVID-19 list but was decent as a receiver during his rookie season, catching 14 of 24 targets for 144 yards and two touchdowns. The Giants acquired Armstead off waivers last month but opted to drop him back to waivers after just four weeks in New York. Armstead will likely get another opportunity to provide depth for a team, while Devontae Booker remains the obvious RB2 in the Giants offense behind All-Pro RB Saquon Barkley.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that RB Ryquell Armstead has been claimed by the New York Giants.
Fantasy Impact
Armstead was waived by the Jaguars yesterday and was quickly claimed by the Giants. This was a depth piece addition by the Giants with little fantasy impact. He will join Saquon Barkley, Devontae Booker, Corey Clement, and Gary Brightwell in the RB room.
Field Yates of ESPN reports that RB Ryquell Armstead has been waived by the Jaguars.
Fantasy Impact
Armstead missed the entire 2020 season due to COVID-19. He dealt with lingering effects the entire season and wasn't able to come back. The Jaguars brought in Carlos Hyde and drafted Clemson star RB Travis Etienne with their first-round pick to help share the workload with James Robinson. Armstead will look to sign with a new team this season.
Adam Schefter reported on ESPN that Jaguars RB Ryquell Armstead is going to miss the entire season due to COVID-19 complications.
Fantasy Impact
Yikes. Schefter adds that Armstead has been hospitalized twice due to his complications. The last update we had on Armstead was from coach Doug Marrone back in September, who said it "will be a while" before the 23-year-old is ready to play. Well, it turns out that he won't be playing at all this season. It's a concerning situation for the NFL moving forward.
