The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced they have re-signed veteran, backup QB Ryan Griffin.
Fantasy Impact
Griffin spent the 2020 season as the third string QB for the Buccaneers and was inactive for every game. The current terms of the deal are still unknown. However, with Blaine Gabbert currently a free agent, Griffin at this point in time would be the backup to Tom Brady. Tampa Bay has also not ruled out the possibility of taking a QB in the early parts of the NFL Draft.

Griffin had a big game and is competing with Blaine Gabbert for the Buccaneers QB2 spot behind Jameis Winston. Despite his impressive performance, Gabbert remains the favorite for the backup role.

With Mike Glennon on his way to Chicago, Ryan Griffin is in line to assume the role of Jameis Winston's primary backup, unless the team signs a veteran quarterback in free agency for the job. Griffin has yet to appear in a regular-season game in his career.
