Quinton Coples

Week 17 Outlook
Availability
Rams released DL Quinton Coples who are trimming their roster from 90 to 75 players. Coples has been a first round bust since the Jets drafted him back in 2012. Coples was transitioning from DE to DT and recorded two forced fumbles and one sack so far in the preseason but it wasn't enough for Coach Fisher.
Fantasy Impact
Jeff Fisher said that he "wanted to give him a chance and give him an opportunity to get out there early to see if he could find work. If not, we're going to keep the door open for him." Sounds like door isn't close for Coples in LA but the Rams have one of the deepest DL's in the NFL.
The Los Angeles Rams signed pass rusher Quinton Coples to a two-year deal according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Fantasy Impact
Quinton Coples visited the Rams earlier in the week and signed a two-year deal on Wednesday. The fourth-year pass rusher played his first three seasons with the Jets before heading to Miami in 2015. Coples played all 16 games with the Dolphins but was relatively ineffective finishing the year with eight tackles and a fumble recovery.
Former first-round pick Quinten Coples is in Carolina and will take a physical with the team according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Fantasy Impact
Quinten Coples could sign with Carolina as the potential replacement for the recently retired Jared Allen.
New York Jets linebacker Quinton Coples did not start for the first time this season last week against the New England Patriots and played only 19 snaps -- less than half as many as his replacement, Jason Babin (40). But Coples expects to have a bigger role Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
Fantasy Impact
Coples had the potential to be one of the better linebackers this year, but he has failed to capitalise on the opportunity for a breakout season. With Jason Babin likely to start for a second consecutive week, it's probably best to avoid Coples and go another way.
Jason Babin played twice as many snaps as starter Quinton Coples (31 to 15) on Saturday night, in the Jets' win over Cincinnati. New York head coach Rex Ryan was asked if it was a glimpse into how he plans to use them this season, and responded by saying: "It's definitely a sign of things to come."
Fantasy Impact
This year could be make or break for Coples. He has shown flashes of brilliance in his two years as a Jet, but has lacked the consistency to live up to his first-round price tag. If Babin displaces Coples as a starter, then he will lose virtually all of his fantasy value. Regardless of whether or not Coples starts for the Jets, he should be a late-round flier at most.
