Maurice Canady
CB -
Week 12 Outlook
Availability
The Giants have terminated their contract with CB Maurice Canady, a one-year minimum deal.
Fantasy Impact
Canady, a former sixth-round pick out of Virginia, was making his fourth stop in the league in six years before being waived by the Giants. Canady has played in 40 games, starting four of them, and has 86 total tackles and one interception in his five seasons, having opted out of the 2020 NFL season due to COVID-19. He will become a free agent again, and he can sign with another team as a depth corner.
Maurice Canady would seem to carry ideal size for an NFL CB, but CBS Sports and other scouts don't feel he is a "sum of his parts," meaning he doesn't showcase ideal physicality despite his size.
Fantasy Impact
Considering his lack of elite speed and the physicality issues despite his frame, Canady could have a hard time finding a good schematic fit in the NFL. You can't teach size, and his athleticism is "intriguing," so he could still manage to get selected in the middle rounds.
