Matt McGloin completes 22 passes in win over Dolphins

Matt McGloin has seen the bulk of the action this preseason at quarterback with backup Nick Foles sidelined. McGloin completed 22-of-26 for 155 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the Eagles 38-31 win over the Dolphins.

Fantasy Impact

McGloin has all but locked up the third string quarterback position and will be the backup to Wentz should Foles not be ready for the season opener. Don't expect McGloin to significant fantasy value, even if he gets a chance to play. He's more likely to manage an offense sufficiently rather than put up big numbers.

Matt McGloin is inconsistent versus Bills

With Carson Wentz seeing limited time and Nick Foles yet to take a snap in game action this preseason, Matt McGloin has seen the bulk of the time at quarterback. He was inconsistent on Thursday, completing 12-of-20 for 131 yards, an interception and quarterback rating of 58.5.

Fantasy Impact

McGloin hasn't been playing particularly well, but has been better than Dane Evans, also competing for the third string quarterback job. Look for McGloin to hold off Evans, but see no regular season action unless in an emergency situation.

Matt McGloin throws for 205 yards versus Packers

Matt McGloin saw most of the action at quarterback in the preseason opener for the Eagles. He threw for 205 yards, but averaged just 4.9 yards per attempt. McGloin was also intercepted once and compiled a 68.1 quarterback rating.

Fantasy Impact

McGloin is battling Dane Evans for third string quarterback. While McGloin is likely to win that battle, he wont see any significant time unless both Carson Wentz and Nick Foles get injured.

Matt McGloin signs with Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed free agent quarterback Matt McGloin on Monday.

Fantasy Impact

McGloin, who spent the previous four seasons in Oakland, signed with the Eagles Monday. He'll likely enter the 2017 season third on Philadelphia's quarterback depth chart behind starter Carson Wentz and presumed primary backup Nick Foles.

Matt McGloin wants chance to start in 2017

Matt McGloin told reporters that he hopes to have a chance to compete for a starting job in 2017. He's an impending free agent.

Fantasy Impact

McGloin won't get that shot in Oakland with Derek Carr entrenched as the starter, so he'll have to look elsewhere. One team that's been rumored has been the Texans. The connection is there, given the team's struggles and Bill O'Brien's history at Penn State with McGloin. Even if McGloin is signed and given a shot to start entering next season, he'll be a stretch as a viable fantasy QB entering the new year.
