Week 14 Outlook
Availability
Matt Flynn has been released by the Patriots, the Boston Herald reports.
Fantasy Impact
Matt Flynn barely practiced with the Patriots having been placed on non-football injury list ahead of training camp. Once Flynn gets healthy he may catch on with another team needing quarterback depth but more than likely he will have no fantasy value this season.
Veteran quarterback Matt Flynn has signed with the New England Patriots.
Fantasy Impact
With Tom Brady's suspension from "Deflategate" looming for the start of the upcoming season, the Patriots signed a solid veteran QB in Flynn. Flynn will provide a veteran presence behind second year QB Jimmy Garoppolo. The Flynn signing will give the Patriots assurance at QB to cover Brady's suspension if Garoppolo was to struggle early.
In a move that adds more experience on their quarterback depth chart, the New England Patriots have agreed to terms with eight-year veteran Matt Flynn on a contract, league sources confirmed to ESPN.
Fantasy Impact
Matt Flynn will be the third string quarterback behind behind starter Tom Brady and second-year man Jimmy Garoppolo. The Patriots typically only carry two quarterbacks but with the possible suspension of four games for Brady, New England will want some depth behind Garoppolo.
Flynn completed 100% of his passes, 1 of 1 for 8 yards. He also lost 100% of his fumbles.
Fantasy Impact
It appears as if QB Aaron Rodgers hamstring injury won't make him miss any games, particularly with the Packers heading into their bye week. But, Flynn didn't inspire confidence with this limited performance. It's safe to say the entire Packers offense would suffer without Rodgers. But, in this game, Rodgers didn't appear to miss time because of his injury and only left because the Packers were down by so much.
