Week 12 Outlook
Availability
Kevin Norwood suffered a hip injury last night and now likely be on the list of cuts to get the roster down from 75 to 53.
Fantasy Impact
Norwood spent one season with the Seahawks and one with the Panthers. He's a return specialist at this point and hopes to find work on special teams.
With Paul Richardson headed to the IR, fellow rookie WR Kevin Norwood is in line for a bigger role in the Seahawks passing game. "We’re excited to see [Norwood] play,†Pete Carroll said. “He’ll do a really good job, we totally trust that he knows what’s going on and can make the plays...we think he’s going to be a very effective player. We just haven’t seen a lot of him so that you would know that, but we’re OK about that. We’re going to definitely miss Paul, because he’s making a lot of big plays and tough catches in tough situations and stuff, so we’ll miss him.
Fantasy Impact
While the fact that he wasn't particularly productive in college, or that great of an athlete compared to his cohort, when Kevin Norwood has been on the field, he's largely impressed. At this time I don't think anyone can say with any great confidence exactly what Norwood is, but he isn't the field stretching burner that Paul Richardson was. Norwood should be #3 on the Seattle WR pecking order behind Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse, but he is a thrifty option in daily formats due to his bottom-rung price tag.
Rookie WR Kevin Norwood is progressing after surgery to remove a bone spur from his foot.
Fantasy Impact
The team stated that he could rejoin practice as soon as next week. Norwood impressed during mini-camp as well as the beginning of training camp before being shut down with foot issues. He's a name to monitor for 2015 and beyond, and has 0 redraft value.
When asked about rookie 4th round draft choice Kevin Norwood, Head Coach Pete Carroll stated that he is "gonna miss awhile".
Fantasy Impact
The early star of training camp seems to be headed to either a PUP or IR stay to begin his career. Norwood has been dealing with a ongoing foot issue for all of camp, and the quotes around him paint a less than favorable prognosis. Norwood can safely be removed from your watch-lists.
Rookie WR Kevin Norwood underwent surgery to remove a bone spur from his foot on Tuesday.
Fantasy Impact
There was no timetable given on Norwood's return. Norwood's injury injury has been lingering since high school and just became too much to play on. Prior to his flare up, Norwood was impressing coaches and onlookers with his size and hands. Norwood can be safely ignored in all redraft leagues, but still has upside in deep dynasty formats.
