Kendell Beckwith
LB -
Week 11 Outlook
Availability
Tampa Bay linebacker (ankle) will not be activated and will return to injured reserve.
Fantasy Impact
There are some questions floating around about his future because of his ankle injury as a result of a late summer car accident. If IDP owners can get him on the IR in dynasty leagues it just may be worth a hold and see. Kwon Alexander (knee) just can't stay on the field and is in the final year of his rookie contract. Weirder things have happened.
Tampa Bay linebacker Kendall Beckwith (ankle) won’t be activated for Sunday's game versus the Washington Redskins. But head coach Dirk Koetter said he’s made strides this week after returning to practice a week ago. The team’s 21-day window to activate him or place him on IR ends this coming Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
The current IDP owners of Kwon Alexander's (knee) replacement, Adarius Taylor, should be concerned if Beckwith is activated. He filled in this past season as the full-time middle linebacker and did well when doing so. Racking up the tackles as well as earning a starting role when Alexander returned as the starting strongside linebacker. Taylor hasn't exactly overwhelmed as the middle linebacker this far in place of Alexander. His IDP owners who have plans for him heading into the fantasy football playoffs should be on their toes if Beckwith is activated by Wednesday.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed Kendell Beckwith (ankle) on the non-football injury/reserve list. This after putting Devante Bond (foot) on injured reserve yesterday.
Fantasy Impact
Both Bond and Beckwith could return in about six weeks per NFL rules. For now, it's being indicated that linebacker Adarius Taylor would be the starting strongside linebacker to start the season. IDP owners may want to look for better options than the SLB position on the Tampa Bay defense, it simply isn't a viable producing IDP play.
Tampa Bay's second-year linebacker Kendell Beckwith is still recovering from an ankle fracture suffered in a one-car accident in Louisiana back in the spring.
Fantasy Impact
Kendell Beckwith has some appeal for Kwon Alexander and Lavonte David as a depth player when one or both may be injured and sitting out contests. When both are healthy his IDP value is drastically limited. It is still a situation his owner will want to monitor going forward.
With Kwon Alexander and Lavonte David completely healthy, Beckwith was inserted back to the strongside linebacker position and recorded a three solo tackle performance. He added 1 assist.
Fantasy Impact
The writing was on the wall as David was active in Week 6 and Alexander reportedly on the mend and ready for Week 7. As well as Beckwith showed in place of both David and Alexander fantasy owners should have been aware that Beckwith's chances at high volume games were about to end. The strongside linebacker just doesn't have the snap opportunities in most defensive schemes. If fantasy owners did not take advantage of the situation and sell high before this week the odds are they will only benefit at the level they drafted the rookie at going forward. To note, he was undrafted this past summer in most leagues.
