Week 12 Outlook
Availability
Kellen Davis was once again held without a catch this week, as he was not even targeted in Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fantasy Impact
Kellen Davis was already pretty much irrelevant for fantasy purposes, and the arrival of Austin Seferian-Jenkins is going to cut into Davis's playing time and production going forward. Davis has zero catches through the first five weeks, and he is not someone you can count on for fantasy production right now.
Kellen Davis was once again a non-factor in Week 4, as he saw no targets against the Seattle Seahawks.
Fantasy Impact
Through the first four weeks of the regular season, no team has struggled as much as the New York Jets have at getting their tight ends involved. Against the Seattle Seahawks this week, tight end Kellen Davis did not even see any targets, as the only pass to a tight end went to Braedon Bowman, who dropped it. At this point, no Jets tight end is playable in fantasy football in the immediate future.
Jets Tight End's were completely baffled in Sunday's 22-23 loss to the Bengals. Davis, Kellen Winslow, and company were held to no catches and no targets.
Fantasy Impact
Part of the reason for the lack of production may have come from the Bengals posting one of the more stout defenses in the league. Regardless, Davis isn't expected to make a splash anytime soon as the Jets prefer to use their tight ends for blocking.
Newly signed tight end Kellen Davis will get the start this week and should be the primary tight end for the Detroit Lions against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8.
Fantasy Impact
The former Chicago Bears longtime tight end has never had more than 19 receptions in any given year during his career but today could be something out of the norm. With the Lions missing all three of their top tight ends as well Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush, they will have to get offensive firepower from somewhere. Look for Davis to get a fair amount of targets if he and Matthew Stafford get on the same page early.
