Week 11 Outlook
Availability
Tight end Erik Swoope has signed a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers.
Fantasy Impact
Swoope will have to battle for a roster spot at the backup tight end spot with Ross Dwelley and Jordan Reed. The 49ers most likely added Swoope as an insurance piece given Reed's injury history. Don't expect Swoope to see much playing time unless there are multiple injuries to the tight end position.
Erik Swoope did not catch a pass and saw just one target in Week 14 as the Colts defeated the Texans by a 24-21 score.
Fantasy Impact
Swoope never practiced in full capacity this week and didn't log any reps at all Thursday, but the Colts saw enough to activate him on Sunday. But the veteran tight end did not see much action and only has eight catches on the season and is not worth owning in fantasy.
Erik Swoope caught one pass for four yards as the Colts lost to the Jaguars by a 6-0 score on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Swoope just caught the one pass but could have fantasy value for the rest of the season in deeper leagues. Swoope has moved into the TE2 role and could see more targets as Luck likes to pass to his ends. Keep him on your radar.
Erik Swoope (knee) is out for Week 8 against the Raiders according to Zak Keefer of Indy Sports Star.
Fantasy Impact
Swoope has been dealing with a knee injury from Week 7 against the Bills and was not able to practice all week. With fellow tight end Jack Doyle possibly back on the field and Eric Ebron playing well, Swoope no longer has any fantasy value and can be dropped.
Erick Swoope caught one pass for 17 yards which went for a touchdown but had to leave the game with a knee issue and did not return.
Fantasy Impact
There have been no additional updates on Swoope. Look for more news to come out during the week as practices start up. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on updates.
