Erik Swoope signs with the 49ers

Tight end Erik Swoope has signed a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers. (Matt Maiocco on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Swoope will have to battle for a roster spot at the backup tight end spot with Ross Dwelley and Jordan Reed. The 49ers most likely added Swoope as an insurance piece given Reed's injury history. Don't expect Swoope to see much playing time unless there are multiple injuries to the tight end position.
