Week 12 Outlook
Availability
DE Dwight Freeney is scheduled to fly Thursday to Atlanta to sign a one-year deal with Falcons.
Fantasy Impact
Dwight Freeney might be old but he showed last year that he can still play. Freeney helps the Falcons pass rush but not enough to make them relevant. Stay away from the Falcons defense for now.
Free agent DE Dwight Freeney is expected to sign with the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
Atlanta finished the 2015 season as the 21st ranked D/ST in fantasy football with 115 points and a 7.2 FPPG average over a 16 game span. The Flacons should remain on the waiver wire entering the 2016 fantasy football campaign and only be used as a starter in favorable matchups.
ESPN NFL Nation writer Cole Harvey reports that edge defender Dwight Freeney is working out with the Cincinnati Bengals this week.
Fantasy Impact
Freeney, 36, has been vocal about his plans to play this season, in particular for a contender. The Bengals fit the bill, and if signed he would make for a quality pass-rushing specialist. Freeney had eight sacks in 11 games with the Cardinals last season, so it is evident the 14-year vet still has something left in the tank.
Dwight Freeney produced one tackle and one sack in Sunday's win over the Bengals.
Fantasy Impact
The Cardinals continue to deploy Freeney as a passing-down pass rusher. One his sack he made one of the best LT in football look like a rookie with his patented spin move. While Freeney only recorded one sack, he provided pressure numerous other times, and helped keep Dalton feeling uncomfortable for a long stretch of the game.
