Fantasy Impact
Buffalo's wide receiver depth chart: 1. Sammy Watkins 2. Robert Woods 3. Marquise Goodwin (still in concussion protocol) 4. Greg Salas 5. Walt Powell. Lewis stirred up some buzz during offseason activities, but it didn't continue in pads.
Minicamp star Dezmin Lewis has not been able to continue his momentum into the preseason, and his chances of making the Bills' roster looked bleaker in Saturday's preseason game against the Giants. He didn't see the field until late in the second quarter (after Greg Little, Walt Powell and Jarrett Boykin did), and he caught his only official target for 21 yards, along with a two-point conversion catch.
Fantasy Impact
His offseason hype is now a distant memory. He can be ignored for fantasy pruposes.
Jay Skurski of the Buffalo News is suggesting that Buffalo Bills WR Greg Salas "made the biggest push out of the gate" for the No. 3 wide receiver job. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman also talked up Lewis as a candidate for the spot entering training camp. “Dez Lewis is really making huge Year One to Year Two strides,†Roman said. “He’s here first thing in the morning. He’s one of those guys that we started to take notice of before we even got on the field. What usually happens, what they do in the meetings, weight room, etc. carries over to the field. Those two are very interconnected. His play on the field has reflected that.â€

Second-year receiver Dez Lewis had reportedly made tremendous strides this offseason and could enter the regular season as the No. 3 wideout of the Buffalo Bills. Lewis is a relative unknown in the league and spent the better part of the 2015 season on the practice squad. Lewis will partake in a training camp position battle with Marquise Goodwin, Greg Salas and Leonard Hankerson for the slot receiver job and has a legitimate shot at winning it. In the upcoming fantasy football campaign, Lewis should be considered a deep sleeper who should remain on the waiver wire to start the year unless unforeseen circumstances occur with Sammy Watkins or Robert Woods.
The Buffalo News is predicting that Bills wide receiver Dezmin Lewis will have a breakout season in 2016.
Fantasy Impact
After receiving rave reviews from many beat writers for his performance at spring practices, Lewis is looking to carry that over into training camp. At 6'4", he is the tallest receiver on the team, and has a clear path to playing time (particularly in the red zone). He isn't worth draft consideration yet, but be sure to keep an eye on him over the coming weeks.
There has been plenty of hype this offseason surrounding Buffalo Bills WR Dezmin Lewis stemming from his second offseason of workouts in the league. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman told the team's official website that "Dez Lewis is really making huge year one to year two strides" entering the 2016 season. " “He is a guy in the weight room, meeting room, he is here first thing in the morning. He one of those guys that we started to take notice of before we even got on the field. What usually happens is what they do in the meetings, weight room, etcetera carries over to the field. Those two are very interconnected. His play on the field has reflected that.â€
Fantasy Impact
Dezmin Lewis could be a player to watch at the wide receiver position in 2016 as a deep sleeper from the Buffalo Bills. Lewis garnered the attention and hype from team brass this offseason which could translate to playing time in the regular season. The Bills lost Chris Hogan via free agency this year, a departure that opens the door for someone to step up to fill his spot on the depth chart. Buffalo appears to be light at the wide receiver position outside of starters Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods. Lewis is currently slated to be their No. 3 and slot man with not much competition behind him. If he holds onto that spot, consider Lewis a WR5 with upside heading into the upcoming fantasy football campaign as he can add quality depth to an owners' bench especially in PPR formats.
