David DeCastro
OL -
Week 13 Outlook
Availability
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network has reported that Steelers have released OL David DeCastro.
Fantasy Impact
This is somewhat a surprising move by the Steelers. The offensive line was an issue last season and releasing a former pro-bowler might not be the best idea. Nonetheless, DeCastro will likely be signed sooner rather than later. Steelers have been linked to FA OL Trai Turner as well.
The Steelers ruled out OL David DeCastro (abdomen) for the remainder of Week 5.
Fantasy Impact
DeCastro's absence is a blow to the Steelers' offensive line. Kevin Dotson has replaced him at right guard.
RG David DeCastro (knee) has been ruled for Sunday's Week 2 contest against the Broncos.
Fantasy Impact
DeCastro did not practice throughout the week and will miss his second consecutive game due to a knee injury. Kevin Dotson will start at RG with DeCastro sidelined.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have ruled out Pro Bowl OL David DeCastro for Week 1.
Fantasy Impact
The Steelers starting RG will miss Week 1 due to a lingering knee injury that's forced him to miss significant practice time this offseason. The absence of DeCastro certainly downgrades the Steelers offensive line, but reports have been positive thus far about the progress of backup G Stefan Wisniewski. James Conner and Ben Roethlisberger should be fine for Week 1.
