Week 13 Outlook
Availability
The 35-year-old Dockett will retire as one of the best pass-rushers in Cardinals history. His 40.5 sacks are seventh all time in the Cardinals' record book
Fantasy Impact
Dockett was a linchpin in the Cardinals defense for years until he tore his ACL in 2015. He will always be remembered as one of the best leaders and pass rushers of his time. Congrats on a great career Darnell.
The 49ers released former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Darnell Dockett on Friday. This comes after the team signed him to a two-year, $7.25 million deal in the offseason. Recent social media usage led to Dockett and the 49ers telling different stories about a rib injury he's been working through.
Fantasy Impact
Docket had not shown much during the preseason after coming off a season cut short by an ACL tear in 2014. With his current rib injury, the 49ers were not inclined to keep him around any longer which may speak to his level of play that the team feels he is capable of. He's not worth a roster spot for IDP leagues.
Dranell Dockett signed a 2-year deal with San Francisco worth $7.5 million.
Fantasy Impact
Dockett is 34 years old and coming off an ACL injury. In 2013 he graded out in the bottom half of defensive ends. He will have to compete for a starting position in San Fran, but will likely end up in a rotation. His best days are behind him, however, expect Dockett to give everything he has left in the two games against Arizona.
The Arizona Cardinals have confirmed that DE Darnell Docket has torn his ACL, effectively ending his 2014 season. Dockett suffered the injury during 11-on-11 work.
Fantasy Impact
This is a huge blow to the Arizona defense as Dockett recorded 4.5 sacks last year for the Cardinals. For fantasy purposes, Arizona will still be a stout defense due to the other playmakers such as John Abraham, Patrick Peterson, Antonio Cromartie, Calais Campbell, and Tyrann Mathieu. Target the unit as a top 12 DST.
