Danny Trevathan
LB -
Week 13 Outlook
Availability
The Bears have released veteran linebacker Danny Trevathan.
Fantasy Impact
This move was expected as releasing him saves the Bears approximately $3.2 million in cap space. The former sixth-round draft pick of the Broncos, Trevathan has played for the Bears since 2016. For his career, he has logged eight interceptions (one returned for a TD), seven forced fumbles, ten sacks, and 741 tackles. He only appeared in five games for Chicago in 2021.
Danny Trevathan is expected to be let go by the Chicago Bears sometime in the near future. The move should free up more salary for Chicago.
Fantasy Impact
After the Khalil Mack trade yesterday, it is clear that the Bears will be shifting towards a rebuild. Expect an active off-season to continue at Halas Hall while the Bears figure out how to surround Fields in a situation he can succeed in while rebuilding the defense.
Danny Trevathan left Sunday’s win over the Lions with an apparent injury to his left arm. He is scheduled to get an MRI on Monday. Prior to leaving the game, Trevathan racked up three total tackles.
Fantasy Impact
If Trevathan were to miss any time Nick Kwiatkoski would step in for Danny at the LB spot. He would be a must-add in all leagues with the additional playing time.
Danny Trevathan ended Sundays lost to New Orleans with 10 total tackles (seven solo).
Fantasy Impact
Trevathan is the Bears’ tackle leader with 55 through Week 7. He should be viewed as a high-end LB2 and should be started in deeper leagues.
Danny Trevathan finished Sunday’s 24-21 loss to the Raiders with a team high 11 total tackles (11 solo).
Fantasy Impact
Trevathan is the team leader in total tackles (44) through the first five weeks of the season. Start him every game once Chicago is back from the Bye in Week 6.
