Former Denver Broncos LB Brandon Marshall was seen working out for the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, per Adam Schefter.
Fantasy Impact
The 31-year old former Broncos linebacker last played in the league during the 2018 season, finishing with 42 tackles and a pass deflection across 11 games. After being seen working out for the 49ers on Thursday, it appears Marshall could soon be an experienced depth piece signed to play alongside 49ers' perennial Pro-Bowl LB Fred Warner. Keep monitoring Marshall's status as teams continue to gather for OTAs.
The Raiders have released veteran linebacker Brandon Marshall as part of their initial wave of cuts to get down to the 53-man roster.
Fantasy Impact
The move came as a bit of a surprise after Marshall signed a one-year deal via free agency to join the Raiders this offseason. Marshall had spent the previous six seasons in Denver, starting 63 games.
The Broncos have informed linebacker Brandon Marshall that they do not intend to exercise his contract option for 2019. He will become an unrestricted free agent March 13th.
Fantasy Impact
Marshall would have made $7 million in 2019 had he returned to Denver. He expressed his disappointment and love for the organization to Mike Klis of 9News - Denver. “I love the organization, they gave me my first chance to play,” Marshall said. “I love all my teammates. I really love [the] city. I felt embraced on and off the field. I’m just sorry I was injured two of the last three years…It’s a really great organization so we’ll see what happens.” Marshall, 29, will draw interest from other teams in free agency.
Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Steelers.
Fantasy Impact
Marshall was not able to practice this week and will miss his third straight game since injuring his knee in Week 8. Rookie Josey Jewell will continue to start in his absence.
The Broncos have ruled out linebacker Brandon Marshall (knee) for Sunday’s game against the Texans.
Fantasy Impact
Marshall said earlier in the week it was “extremely unlikely” that he would play against Houston, so his out designation is no surprise. He suffered the injury, described as a bone bruise, in last Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs. He is considered week-to-week but there is a chance he returns following the Week 10 bye. The Broncos will also be without S Darian Stewart (neck), WR DaeSean Hamilton (knee), and CB Bradley Roby (ankle).
