Adrian Martinez
QB - New York Jets
Week 12 Outlook
Availability
Adrian Martinez completed 12 of his 20 passes for 99 yards while adding 23 yards on three carries in a 10-6 win over the Giants in preseason action on Saturday.
Fantasy Impact
Martinez got the start for the Jets and played for the entire first half before taking a seat. He showed his dual-threat abilities in the contest as he hopes to secure a spot on the team's initial 53-man roster behind Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor. A spot on the practice squad is also a possibility for Martinez if he doesn't make the team.
The New York Jets signed QB Adrian Martinez.
Fantasy Impact
Martinez most recently won the MVP in the UFL after leading the Birmingham Stallions to a league this past season. He'll compete for a depth role in the Jets quarterback room.
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, UDFA QB Adrian Martinez is being waived by the Detroit Lions, who will hold just two QBs on their active roster.
Fantasy Impact
Martinez will be subjected to the waiver wire and can sign with the Lions' practice squad if he clears it. The former Nebraska and Kansas State QB was a dual threat in college, rushing for at least 500 yards every season of his career. The Lions could be interested in bringing him back, but with QB Teddy Bridgewater as the backup, Hendon Hooker on the NFI list and Nate Sudfeld on IR, the Lions are holding onto a lot of QBs.
The Detroit Lions signed QB Adrian Martinez as an undrafted free agent.
Fantasy Impact
Martinez was a four-year starter at Nebraska before transferring to Kansas State this past year for his final season of eligibility. He is a mobile quarterback, rushing for over 500 yards in all five of his collegiate years. He will compete in training camp for a roster spot.
