Detroit Lions RB David Montgomery will undergo season-ending knee surgery after suffering an MCL injury in Week 15's loss to the Buffalo Bills. (Colton Pouncy on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Montgomery had been a standout all season as a part of the potent Detroit offense, playing alongside RB Jahmyr Gibbs. The former Chicago Bears RB had 12 TDs on the ground and 775 rushing yards after rushing for 1,015 yards and 13 TDs the year before. Gibbs will likely slide into a more full-time role in the Lions' offense, but if they try to incorporate another RB, it could be a mixture of Craig Reynolds, Jermar Jefferson and/or rookie Sione Vaki.
