The Dallas Cowboys have confirmed that third-year pass rusher Sam Williams tore his ACL, meaning he will miss the rest of the 2024 NFL season. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Williams went down during practice on Sunday. After initial fear, MRI tests have confirmed that the Ole Miss product did tear his ACL. The Cowboys were likely to have a role for Williams as a rotational edge behind Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence and alongside second-round rookie Marshawn Kneeland. Now, Williams will have to wait until 2025, which will be the last year of his rookie deal. He has 8.5 sacks and 21 pressures in two seasons, playing just over a quarter of the team's snaps.
