Deshaun Watson, who is set to get some clarity in his court cases Friday, is reportedly drawing interest from the Steelers, according to Shaun King. "Hearing if things go well Friday Deshaun Watson to the steelers is happening soon after," King said on Twitter Wednesday. (Shaun King on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Watson, if acquired by the Steelers, is an obvious upgrade over Ben Roethlisberger playing in his final season. The fantasy football outlooks of all Steelers pass-catchers, most notably Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool, get a bump as well. Considering the likely, but not certain, departure of fellow WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, and the potential of an upgrade at QB, Johnson and Claypool are potentially high-floor, high-ceiling fantasy football assets in this scenario. The target competition will be lesser than last season, while better QB play leads to a much more efficient offense. To that point, the Steelers offense ranked No. 26 in Weighted DVOA last season, which emphasizes the second half of the season. An efficient offense leads to more scoring opportunities. Johnson totaled eight touchdowns last season, while Claypool scored twice.
