Rumors

The Thunder are widely expected to shop Josh Giddey in trade talks this offseason. (Source: Evan Sidery on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Giddey has also become eligible for an extension this offseason. The Thunder also have 13 future first-round picks to include in a potential trade. Giddey averaged just under 13 minutes per game on the court in the series loss against the Mavericks.

Devin Booker has reportedly been linked to the Thunder and Spurs this offseason. (Source: TheDunkCentral.com)

Fantasy Impact: After getting swept in the first round by the Timberwolves, it seems pretty evident that changes will be made with the Suns this offseason. Booker appears the most likely player to be moved between him, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. The Knicks have also been rumored to be interested in Booker with the Thunder and Spurs now reportedly being added to the mix.

The Los Angeles Lakers are among the front runners to sign guard Spencer Dinwiddie when he clears waivers. (Source: Dave McMenamin on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The Lakers made no trades ahead of the deadline, so they'll likely attack the buyout market. Dinwiddie could offer them an immediate scorer whether he starts or is in the sixth-man role. He'll likely hold solid fantasy value wherever he lands.

James Harden is expected to report to Philadelphia's training camp soon. (Source: Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Harden hasn't been with the team this offseason and wasn't at media day on Monday, but he's expected to be back very soon. He has wanted a trade all offseason, but he didn't get one and it finally appears that he will let it go. He will be an elite fantasy option as usual if he plays with no restrictions or drama to start the year.

Max Strus is expected to start at the small forward position for the Cavaliers this season. (Source: Chris Fedor on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Strus was picked up by the team in free agency and is expected to get a big role off the bat on his new team. He says that he expects to start at the small forward position, which was filled by Caris LeVert and Cedi Osman for much of last year. This is good news for his fantasy value and he's worth keeping an eye on as a late-round draft pick.

Ricky Rubio was not present at media day on Monday and remains away from the team indefinitely. (Source: Chris Fedor on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Rubio took a step away from basketball to focus on his mental health, and he still remains away from the team as we draw close to training camp. We haven't heard any update from him about when or if he will be back, but the team is hopeful he plays sometime this season. Caris LeVert and Max Strus will both get more work for however long the veteran remains away from the team for.

Kevin Porter Jr. will not be a part of the Rockets' team this season. (Source: Chris Mannix on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Porter has been absent from the team since being arrested for sexual assault, and it's now being reported that Houston has reached out to his representatives and told them that they won't be having him back on the team this year. It's unknown if they will try to trade him or cut him, but either way, he's not going to see the court for the foreseeable future. Cam Whitmore has been mentioned as someone who may get a bigger role this year as a result of Porter's absence.

Dwight Howard will be meeting with the Warriors about potentially signing with them. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Howard has been playing and dominating overseas recently, and the Warriors will bring him in for a visit and could possibly sign him. He'll play a depth role off of the bench if anything, so he probably won't carry much fantasy value even if a deal does get done before the season.

Bradley Beal is expected to enter 2023-24 Suns training camp as the team’s starting point guard. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This news comes after the Suns traded Cam Payne to open up a roster spot to sign Bol Bol. Jordan Goodwin is expected to be listed as the backup point guard with Devin Booker likely also taking the ball up the court at times.

The Portland Trail Blazers have made it clear they are “open for business everywhere in the league” on trading Damian Lillard. (Source: Evan Sidery on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Lillard said he wanted to be traded to the Heat, but the Trail Blazers will be seeking the best return. Portland is reportedly seeking a combination of young players, draft picks and cap relief. This remains a situation to monitor.

Kyrie Irving is meeting with the Suns when free agency begins on Friday. (Source: Chris Haynes on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: It is tough to know how the Suns can make it work financially with Irving, but they're going to try and make it work. That would be quite the blockbuster move after already landing Bradley Beal in a trade. The Mavericks remain fully in the mix to bring Irving back as well.

Victor Wembanyama has decided to sit out the FIBA World Cup this summer and instead focus on his rookie season with the Spurs. He said his health is the main focus as the volume of games he plans to play in between the upcoming NBA season and next year's Olympics was just too much to add in FIBA as well.

Fantasy Impact: He has yet to play in any NBA action, but expectations are sky-high for the rookie. Taking his health seriously is a sign of maturity, something every team longs to see in their young players. That is especially true when they have potential stardom written all over them like Wemby.

The Boston Celtics are reportedly pursuing Kristaps Porzingis. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Porzingis would be an interesting fit for a championship contender in the Celtics. He is coming off a career season averaging over 23 points and eight rebounds on just under 50 percent shooting from the field. Porzingis could be a nice fit alongside Al Horford and Robert Williams in the Celtics front court. It would make sense the Wizards would look to trade Porzingis after recently trading Bradley Beal.

The Charlotte Hornets are reportedly "preparing" to select Brandon Miller with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft Thursday. (Source: Adrian Wojnarowski)

Fantasy Impact: It has always been between trading the pick or selecting Miller or Scoot Henderson. According to Woj, Miller impressed the Hornets in his second workout and they prefer his fit alongside LaMelo Ball. We will see if this selection comes to fruition on Thursday.

The Suns have reportedly had teams call about the availability of Deandre Ayton. (Source: Shams Charania)

Fantasy Impact: The Suns could choose to let go of Ayton for two or three role players on cheaper contracts if they can make that deal done. They already have so much money tied up to Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and now Bradley Beal. It could make sense if Ayton wanted to have a bigger role elsewhere.

Golden State Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy says he plans to have Jordan Poole around for "four more years, at least." (Source: Marc J. Spears on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Poole has had his name in some trade rumors this offseason, but it seems Dunleavy has shot those down for the most part. Golden State also saw Draymond Green decline his player option Monday, so the offseason is just getting going for the Warriors where a number of decisions will have to be made.

Adam Silver announced on Thursday that a decision regarding disciplinary action against Ja Morant is going to be announced soon after the conclusion of the NBA Finals. (Source: Tim MacMahon on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: “We’ve uncovered a fair amount of additional information," Silver said. "We probably could have brought it to a head now, but we’ve made the decision that it would be unfair to these players and these teams to announce that decision in the middle of this series.” The decision on whether or not Morant will be suspended will be announced soon after the NBA Finals finishes.

Tony Bradley is working out with the Los Angeles Lakers this week. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Tristan Thompson is working out with the Lakers as well. Bradley appeared in a handful of games for the Bulls before being waived last month. With Mo Bamba (ankle) expected to miss the next month roughly, the Lakers could be looking to add some depth at center.

Tristan Thompson is working out with the Los Angeles Lakers this week. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Tony Bradley is expected to do so as well. Thompson has not appeared in a game this season. Mo Bamba suffered a high-ankle sprain earlier this month, so the Lakers could be looking to add some depth at center.

The Miami Heat have emerged as favorites to sign Kevin Love once his buyout with the Cavaliers is finalized according to Shams Charania. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Love is said to be enticed by Miami’s playoff positioning as well as the opportunity for more consistent minutes under head coach Erik Spoelstra. The veteran center would offer another solid three-point shooting and rebounding option for a rotation lacking consistent production outside of Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, and Tyler Herro.
