David Lee has officially retired on Sunday after 14 seasons in the NBA. He finished with one NBA title while spending time with the Warriors back in 2014. Lee played for the Knicks, Warriors, Mavericks, and Spurs earning All-Star appearances with the Knicks and Warriors. Lee was a former first-round pick of the Knicks and finishes with a great career.
Fantasy Impact
Lee posted four seasons of a double-double including just his second season in the NBA. His best season was his last with the Knicks going for 20 points and 11 rebounds. He was a solid fantasy player in his day and will certainly be missed.
David Lee is expected to decline his $2.3 million player option for next season as the free agency period is set to begin on July 1st. Lee has until June 27th to decline his option and he inclines to do so with the salary cap increase.
Fantasy Impact
Lee remains a solid role player and big off the bench as he starting days are all but over. Lee will likely join another contender or return to San Antonio. Either way, he's not worth a spot on your roster in fantasy next season.
David Lee suffered a partially torn patellar tendon in his left knee in Game 3's loss to the Warriors. Lee played only two minutes in Game 3 and finished with four points. With Lee out, Pau Gasol and David Bertans will see an uptick in minutes.
Fantasy Impact
Even with the team going with Kyle Anderson in the starting five and LaMarcus Aldridge at center, Pau Gasol should benefit the most with this news. David Bertans and Kyle Anderson also see a boost but are nothing more than flier DFS plays.
David Lee will remain in the starting lineup even though Dewayne Dedmon has returned from an illness. Pau Gasol will see minutes as well leaving all three players fighting for minutes.
Fantasy Impact
Lee is a cheap punt play in DFS with Pau Gasol the better play. Dedmon isn't worth a look in any DFS format.
David Lee has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Fantasy Impact
With Lee out, Pau Gasol and David Bertans will see extra minutes behind LaMarcus Aldridge and Dewayne Dedmon. Kawhi Leonard could see a few minutes at the four as well.
