Gonzalez had been the organization's minor league pitcher of the year a few years ago, however struggled upon earning a call-up last season. He is still young and could see time up in the bigs at some point, but he should be left alone on the wire.

5 and 2/3 innings with 4 earned runs is hardly a positive outing, but it did register as Gonzalez's deepest appearance yet this season. That fact is more telling of how relatively useless Gonzalez is at this point in fantasy then anything else and should be left on the waiver wire.

Gonzalez is just 22 with underdeveloped secondary pitches which has helped lead to issues when hitters have seen him the second or third time through the lineup, with an OPS of .539 the first time through increasing to a OPS of 1.301 the second time through. Gonzalez is locked into the rotation and will have an opportunity to improve so keep an eye on how he continues to progress.
