Kyle Kendrick

Kyle Kendrick will be added to the 40-man roster and start Thursday's game against the Orioles, Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reports.

Fantasy Impact

Kendrick has been underwhelming in Triple-A so far this season with a 6.00 ERA and 20:5 K:BB ratio over 27 innings. But he has a great opportunity to stick around in the Boston rotation for awhile with Steven Wright and David Price out with injuries. Kendrick is not worth picking up in anything but the deepest of fantasy leagues.

The Angels need pitching and Kendrick gives that to them. Might be worth drafting Kendrick as a late flyer but not much more than that. Majority of the time you can leave Kendrick on the wire.

The Atlanta Braves have released veteran pitcher Kyle Kendrick on Saturday, among the many moves reducing their spring roster. Kendrick allowed 14 hits and 10 runs, nine earned, in only 3 2/3 innings in his failed attempt to land one of the last two spots in the Braves' rotation. He also walked three batters.

After eight seasons with division rival Philadelphia, Kendrick had a disappointing year in Colorado last year going 7-13. Look for him to get looked at by another team and signed to a minor league deal. However, it's hard see him have virtually any fantasy value moving forward

It took Kendrick 27 pitches to get through the first inning, and over a two-inning span he faced 13 batters, allowing five hits, three runs, two of those earned while recording one strikeout and a walk. He was tagged in the loss to go 0-1 in spring training.

Kendrick has an outside shot at a spot in the rotation but after today, that assessment may change. Yes, it was his first appearance of the spring but still, less than desired.

Kyle Kendrick took the mound against the Giants on Friday for the final time in 2015 and he had a nice outing. Kendrick lasted six innings, allowing one run, and struck out six.

Fantasy Impact

Kendrick had a rough season pitching in Coors Field but it was nice to see him finish strong. He went 7-13 with a 6.32 ERA on the season and struggled to eat up innings. It is likely that Kendrick will find a new home in 2016.
