Kristian Robinson is back with the Diamondbacks in Spring Training.
Fantasy Impact
It has been a long road for the former top prospect, Kristian Robinson. Robinson has not played in a game since 2019 due to a 2020 charge for assaulting a police officer in the Dominican Republic. With a felony on his record, he could not renew his visa to get back into the United States. In fall 2021, Robinson completed 150 hours of community service required to get his felony dropped to a misdemeanor. Robinson was added to the Diamondbacks' 40-man roster, which was a promising sign, and is not with the team at Spring Training. Most publications considered Robinson a top-ten fantasy prospect and still has those tools. Robinson could be a great prospect to buy in dynasty leagues.
Diamondbacks GM Mike Hazen told reporters that top prospect Kristian Robinson doesn't have to be on the 60-man player pool in order to work out with the team this summer.
Fantasy Impact
It was initially a surprise to see that Robinson, arguably the team's top prospect, wasn't included. However, Hazen says that since Robinson wasn't able to return to his home in the Bahamas during the shutdown, that he can still work out at Salt River Fields. We likely won't see the 19-year-old in the majors this year but Arizona wanted to continue developing the young outfielder.
