Fantasy Impact
Johnny Giavotella was a great asset for the Los Angeles Angels last season. In 99 games, Giavotella hit .260 with six home runs and 31 RBI. In regards to fantasy Giavotella is basically irrelevant as of now. Ignore him on draft day.
Giavotella, who came in as a defensive replacement earlier in the game, launched a solo shot in the 8th inning off Michael Feliz for his 6th long ball of the season.
Fantasy Impact
Not a ton of fantasy relevance here, but the Angels 2B does have four HR and six RBI over the teams last seven games. Just an FYI in case you're in a pinch and desperate for some short term middle infield help.
Johnny Giavotella is not in the Angels lineup on Wednesday.
Fantasy Impact
Johnny Giavotella is getting a standard day off on Wednesday.
The Angels placed 2B Johnny Giavotella on the 15-day DL, retroactive to Friday, and recalled RHP Drew Rucinski from Triple-A Salt Lake.
Fantasy Impact
Johnny Giavotella placed on the 15-day DL, but he was batting .210 over his last ten games. Look for Grant Green and Ryan Jackson to cover second base while he is out. He is not progressing well from his medical condition and there is not confirmation on if he will be back this season.
A day after having three hits in the lead off spot second basemen Johnny Giavotella was moved back down to the seventh spot and went 2 for 4 with two RBI in a 8-2 loss to the White Sox. Giavotella is hitting .270 on the season.
Fantasy Impact
This continues to be puzzling because Sunday Giavotella was in the lead off spot and had three hits but was put back down in the order the following day. Giavotella has thrived in the lead off role and they continue to take that away from him for Shane Victorino and David Dejesus. If he can get back into the everyday lead-off man then Giavotella is a great fantasy option as he is always getting on base and scores a lot of runs.
