Jesse Biddle

In a somewhat surprising move, the Reds have released reliever Jesse Biddle. He saw minimal work with the big-league squad in 2020 and was brought back on a minor league deal this year.

Fantasy Impact

Just 29 years old, Biddle seemed like a legitimate candidate for the Opening Day roster. He owns a career 4.68 ERA and allowed just three runs over nine innings this spring. Biddle's youth and relatively solid pitching stats should earn him plenty of interest in the open market.

While none of these cuts were a major surprise, there are some intriguing names on this list who could become waiver fits on or before the July trade deadline. Keep an eye on Jesse Biddle's minor league progress in 2015.

It has not been a smooth ride for the Phillies number one pick in the 2010 draft, but Jesse Biddle has looked strong in early spring training workouts. Biddle suffered from a concussion and pulled quad last season and finished with a 5.05 ERA at Double-A Reading. General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. is confident Biddle can overcome some issues and be a quality pitcher at the Major League level.

Fantasy Impact

Biddle was added to the Phillies' 40-man roster in November and likely will be back at Reading to start the season. Should he pitch well and progress to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Biddle could possibly see time with the Phillies late in the season. But don't expect Biddle to be ready to contribute for at least another season.
