Chris Capuano generated five outs via the strikeout in two innings of relief work against the Mets on Friday night. He did not factor into the decision.
Fantasy Impact
Capuano now has a 26/15 K/BB rate over 23.0 innings to start the season. Unfortunately, he has allowed six home runs in relief.
Chris Capuano struggled with his command on Thursday, walking three batters over 1 1/3 innings in a Brewers loss on Thursday. He was able to limit the damage, as only one of those runners scored.
Fantasy Impact
It was Capuano's second appearance this season without allowing a hit, unfortunately the three walks tied a season high. Capuano will continue to see consistent work as a first man out of the bullpen for the Brewers.
Chris Capuano was a bright spot for the Brewers' bullpen on Opening Day. He faced three batters in the sixth inning, and retired each one of them, one via strikeout. He threw 13 pitches, eight for strikes.
Fantasy Impact
Once a substantial piece in the Richie Sexson trade, Capuano has found his way back into a Brewers uniform. He earned a roster spot out of Spring Training, and should contribute some solid innings out of the Brewers' bullpen. There's also a chance he could fill in as an emergency fifth starter on occasion. Still, he's only worth owning in the deepest of leagues.
Chris Capuano came out of the bullpen and pitched two clean innings to earn his first save of Spring Training in Cactus League play against the Texas Rangers on Thursday evening. He allowed one hit and struck out two batters.
Fantasy Impact
Capuano is currently fighting for a spot in the bullpen, and would provide some nice left-handed depth for a Brewers team that once considered him an important cog in their starting rotation. He probably will not close, but he may get some spot start opportunities. He is best left on the waiver wire in all but the deepest of formats.
Yankees pitcher Andrew Bailey returned to the mound in the Major League's for the first time since July 12, 2013 after undergoing shoulder surgery. Bailey pitched one inning, allowing three hits and an unearned run.
Fantasy Impact
Andrew Bailey said he felt great and was excited to be back on the mound following his shoulder surgery. Bailey was lights out in 2009 and 2010 before injuries derailed his career. While he is a long shot at this point to make the 25-man roster considering the depth of the Yankees in the bullpen, Bailey is a feel good story. He won't have much fantasy value unless he returns to the dominant late inning pitcher he once was.
