Bryce Brentz went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs and scored a run in Monday's 13-7 loss to the Rays.
Fantasy Impact
Brentz has been red hot since being called up from Triple-A and is hitting .467 with one homer and three RBI in four games with Boston. He may be worth a short-term pickup in fantasy leagues while he is hot, but Brentz will not be able to keep up this type of hitting at the major league level.
Bryce Brentz went 2-for-3 with a solo homer Sunday at the Rangers.
Fantasy Impact
In his three games since being called up to the majors, Brentz's hit safely in each contest, collecting four hits in 11 at-bats. He will have a hard time keeping up that pace, especially if he continues at the 37.5% strikeout rate that he is on since joining the Red Sox.
Bryce Brentz went 1-for-4 in Friday night's 8-7 win over Texas. He started in left field while making his 2016 debut.
Fantasy Impact
Brentz got the call-up from Triple-A to Boston more for the need for a left fielder due to a slew of injuries than for his performance in the minors this year. Brentz is known for his power but has a total of three homers with Pawtucket while hitting .278 with a strikeout rate of 29%. Expect Brentz to be aggressive with the Sox and it may lead to some big hits but probably mostly strikeouts.
Bryce Brentz was pulled from Triple-A Pawtucket's lineup Thursday and is expected to be promoted to Boston in time for Friday's game in Texas, the Boston Globe reports. The move to pull Brentz comes after Boston placed outfielder Chris Young on the disabled list Thursday due to a hamstring injury.
Fantasy Impact
The Red Sox now have a big hole in left field with the injury to Chris Young. Brentz will more than likely share the position with Ryan LaMarre until players come off of the DL. Brentz is not a high-level prospect and is known for his power. But he has not shown it in Triple-A this year with only three home runs in 38 games. This should be a short-term call-up for Brentz and will not have a fantasy impact.
Bryce Brentz went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and a walk-off homer for Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday. Through eight games, the 26-year-old corner outfielder has two homers and is slashing .294/.375/.500 in 40 plate appearances.
Fantasy Impact
Bryce Brentz is the Red Sox top slugging prospect. He is off to a strong start in Triple A but with the Red Sox depth at outfield there is no room for him in the majors with Boston. Unless he was to get traded or there is a load of injuries for the Sox, do not expect Brentz to be fantasy relevant this year.
