The Mets signed RHP Arodys Vizcaino to a minor-league contract.
Fantasy Impact
Vizcaino was a highly effective middle reliever as recently as 2018. However, he has since undergone major shoulder surgery and has appeared in just four games since 2019.
The Seattle Mariners have acquired relievers Arodys Vizcaino and Jesse Biddle in exchange for Anthony Swarzak.
Fantasy Impact
Vizcaino is out for the season after undergoing labrum surgery in April. He'll continue his rehab with the Mariners and could wind up re-signing with them if they build a good rapport.
Arodys Vizcaino will miss the remainder of the 2019 season following shoulder surgery.
Fantasy Impact
The Braves and fantasy owners should have alternate plans for closers at this point. Vizcaino had appeared in four games so far this season and had a 2.25 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. Dan Winkler and AJ Minter are the ones in line for closes, more than likely.
The Braves have placed Arodys Vizcaino (shoulder inflammation) on the 10-day IL retroactive to April 11th.
Fantasy Impact
Vizcaino's shoulder issues have interrupted what was a solid start to the season for the veteran reliever. Fantasy managers should consider the Braves' A.J. Minter for saves while Vizcaino is on the shelf.
Braves reliever Arodys Vizcaino blew his first save of the season on Sunday, allowing a solo home run to Curtis Granderson in the ninth inning of a one-run game. Atlanta went on to score a run in the bottom of the ninth for a walk-off victory, giving Vizcaino the win.
Fantasy Impact
The earned run Vizcaino allowed on Sunday was his first in four appearances. He figures to share closing duties with fellow reliever A.J. Minter, though both have injury concerns and Vizcaino is not expected to be available to pitch on back-to-back days while he continues to recover from the right shoulder discomfort he experienced during spring training.
