Woodford Struggles Against Cardinals

Jake Woodford allowed four earned runs on eight hits while striking out five over 4.2 innings in Wednesday's 10-5 loss to the Cardinals.
Fantasy Impact:
This outing did little to inspire confidence in fantasy managers, especially given his already bloated 7.97 ERA and 1.63 WHIP for the season. While he managed to avoid issuing any walks, the volume of hits allowed and the four earned runs only further damaged his already precarious standing in fantasy formats. His strikeout rate remains unimpressive, and with no saves, holds, or blown saves to his name, Woodford's value is minimal at best. Owners should consider other more reliable options available on the waiver wire.
