Jake Woodford had a night to forget, allowing seven earned runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three over 3 1/3 innings in Saturday's 10-2 loss to the Reds.
Fantasy Impact:
This performance inflates his already elevated ERA to 8.01 and WHIP to 1.62 for the season, further eroding any fantasy viability he might have had. Given his struggles with command and the inability to limit hard contact (evidenced by a .327 BABIP), Woodford remains a risky play in all fantasy formats. His low strikeout rate (6.2 K/9) does little to offset the damage done by high earned runs and walks, making him a non-factor in leagues where reliable pitching is key to success.
