Kyle Tyler Struggles in Loss to Reds
by Chase Davis | Phillies Correspondent | Fri, Aug 9th 8:47am EDT
Kyle Tyler allowed three earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 4.1 innings in Thursday's 10-4 loss to the Reds.
Fantasy Impact:
This outing did little to inspire confidence in fantasy managers, as Tyler's season ERA climbed to an unsettling 5.40, accompanied by a bloated 1.74 WHIP. His performance this season has been marred by high hit rates and control issues, as evidenced by a .351 BABIP and a low 1.39 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Given these metrics and his lackluster strikeout rate of 7.1 K/9, Tyler remains a risky fantasy play in all formats. His role does not appear to be evolving towards high-leverage situations, further limiting his fantasy relevance.
