Ryan Madson allows two home runs and takes third loss Sunday
by Elliott Baas | Sun, Jun 17th 5:37pm EDT
Ryan Madson entered a tie game in the eighth and allowed two home runs and fell to 1-3 after the Nationals lost to the Blue Jays 8-6 on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact:
Madson had only allowed one earned run all month prior to this start, but he served up back-to-back home runs, allowing the Blue Jays to take a late lead. Madson hasn't been quite as effective this season with a 4.56 ERA compared to his 1.83 ERA last season. The veteran still has a 3.12 FIP and these were the first two home runs he has surrendered all year, so he's still pitched relatively well despite a high ERA. Madson will most likely turn things around, but doesn't have much fantasy value outside of a holds league anyway.
