Carson Smith goes on DL with shoulder injury

Carson Smith was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with a right shoulder subluxation, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports. Smith injured his arm after throwing his glove in the dugout following his outing against the Athletics on Monday. (Rob Bradford on Twitter)

Carson Smith on the 10-day disabled list with a right shoulder subluxation. To fill Smith’s spot on the 25-man roster, the club recalled LHP Bobby Poyner from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Fantasy Impact:

Early reports are that Smith could be out awhile with this shoulder injury. The 28-year-old reliever was a good player to own in fantasy leagues with holds. But with this extended absence there is no need to stash him.
