The Mets signed Luis Ortiz to a minor league deal.

Fantasy Impact: Ortiz is expected to miss all of next season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He will continue to rehab and likely won't return till the 2026 season.

Fantasy Impact: Thorpe underwent surgery back in September to remove a bone spur from his right elbow. He is expected to have a normal offseason after making his MLB debut this past year. He'll be an intriguing late-round target for fantasy managers.

Fantasy Impact: It's unclear when the injury occured, but the 30-year-old shortstop underwent the procedure shortly after the end of the Cubs' season. He had a strong end to the season, hitting .303 with a .856 OPS in September, so the injury certainly didn't slow him down much. He should be good to go for the start of the 2025 season.
