Dynasty Stock Report: Christian Watson, Justin Jefferson (2023 Fantasy Football)

Dynasty Stock Report: Christian Watson, Justin Jefferson (2023 Fantasy Football)

Several factors go into building a consistently elite dynasty team. One of those is identifying the top player on every NFL team. Another is knowing which players you should trade away before their fantasy value decreases.

Typically the starting quarterback is the top dynasty asset on every NFL team in superflex leagues. However, they are rarely the top asset in 1QB leagues. To help you build the best dynasty team possible, I will identify the top dynasty asset and sell candidates for every NFL team.

Today I break down the NFC North teams: the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings.

Dynasty Rookie Draft Kit

The Top Dynasty Asset

Here are the top dynasty assets for each NFC North team.

Christian Watson (WR – GB)

Christian Watson had a slow start to his rookie season. However, the former North Dakota State star ended it playing well. Watson was the WR7, averaging 15.2 half-point PPR fantasy points per game over the final eight contests last year. Furthermore, he had the most receiving touchdowns among rookies in 2022. He also played a role in the run game, totaling two touchdowns on seven rushing attempts. While Green Bay traded away Aaron Rodgers this offseason, the team has high hopes for Jordan Love. Meanwhile, the Packers spent three day-two picks on pass catchers this year. Yet, Watson remains the clear-cut No. 1 pass-catcher in Green Bay.

Justin Jefferson (WR –  MIN)

There have been three wide receivers to finish in the top six the past three consecutive years – Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill and Justin Jefferson. However, the former LSU superstar is only starting the prime of his career. Jefferson was the WR1 last season, averaging 17.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he led the league in receiving yards (1,809). Some might worry the superstar will see his target share drop with T.J. Hockenson on the team for a full season. Yet, Jefferson averaged 1.2 more targets per game in the 10 contests with Hockenson on the team last year. While Kirk Cousins‘ long-term future in Minnesota is in doubt, the superstar is a top-two dynasty wide receiver.
