Preston Williams drawing trade interest
Preston Williams remains on the trade block and is drawing interest, per Aaron Wilson. There is a possibility that if Williams is not dealt he could be released. (Source: Aaron Wilson on Twitter )
Fantasy Impact: Williams’ production and impact on the offense has reduced each season since 2019. With the Dolphins adding Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle over the last two seasons, Williams has become expendable. Fantasy managers will want to see if he is acquired by a new team and how that may impact his fantasy stock.
Zack Moss: “zero odds of trading him” per a league source
The Buffalo Bills are reportedly not interested in trading Zack Moss and the odds of trading him are zero, per Aaron Wilson. (Source: Aaron Wilson on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Moss was heavily rumored to being shopped prior to Tuesday’s deadline to cut rosters to 53 players. The 24-year-old tallied 345 yards and four touchdowns on 96 rushing attempts last season. With James Cook joining the running back room, Moss has very limited fantasy value barring an injury to Cook or Devin Singletary.
Alexander Mattison generating some trade interest
There has been “some chatter” on a potential Alexander Mattison trade, according to Matt Lombardo of Heavy.com. While the Vikings aren’t actively trying to trade the running back, they are listening to offers. (Source: Matt Lombardo on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Mattison posted 491 rushing yards, 228 receiving yards, and four touchdowns in 2021, finishing as the RB39 in fantasy. The backup to Dalvin Cook, Mattison is viewed as one of the best insurance policies in football, but the Vikings could capitalize on his value by trading him. He averaged a whopping 22 fantasy points over the four games in which he saw more than 50 percent of snaps last year.
Darius Slayton generating trade interest
Add another name to the list of trade candidates who could be dealt before rosters trim down to 53 on Tuesday. Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports that the Giants are fielding calls on wide receiver Darius Slayton. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Slayton has shown promise in the past, including an impressive rookie year in 2019 in which he caught 48 passes for 740 yards and eight touchdowns. He finished as the WR37 that year. However, his production has declined over the past couple of seasons and he doesn’t have a clear path to meaningful snaps with Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney, and Wan’Dale Robinson on the roster. A trade would almost certainly boost Slayton’s playing time, though it still might not be enough to warrant drafting him in redraft leagues.
