Deebo Samuel attending mandatory minicamp

Fantasy Impact: Samuel, who is seeking a lucrative long-term contract extension, requested a trade back in April and skipped voluntary OTAs, but the 49ers have not expressed an interest in dealing the young wideout. Other wide receivers around the NFL, notably Davante Adams, A.J. Brown, Tyreek Hill, and Stefon Diggs, have signed massive contract extensions this season, though Adams, Brown, and Hill were all traded to new teams in the process. In 16 games last season, Samuel caught 77 of his 121 targets for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns while also rushing 59 times for 365 yards and eight more touchdowns. While a trade is still possible at some point, Samuel’s attendance at mandatory minicamp could be a step towards repairing his strained relationship with the 49ers.

DK Metcalf absent from minicamp

The 24-year-old wideout is continuing his injury rehab in Los Angeles. Metcalf and teammate Tyler Lockett are two of the most challenging players for fantasy managers to assess this year because of the significant QB downgrade. In 49 career games, Metcalf has tallied 216 receptions for 3,170 yards and 29 TDs.

Kyren Williams recently underwent surgery for a broken foot
Rams rookie RB Kyren Williams broke his foot in practice last week and recently underwent surgery, according to a report from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. He is expected to return sometime during training camp. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Williams was expected to be one of the first few running backs taken during the 2022 NFL Draft until a poor NFL Combine performance contributed to him dropping all the way to the fifth round. He already had an uphill battle to compete with Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson Jr. for touches and fantasy relevance in 2022 with the Rams, and this setback will not help his chances. Monitor his status throughout the summer to see when he is able to return to the practice field.

WOW…
if y’all are really fading Treylon Burks because the man has asthma…
If all these headlines continue I’m going to have heavy Burks exposure in Best Ball
(Not something I thought I’d say…)

Treylon Burks struggles related to asthma condition
Titans WR coach Rob Moore gave an interview this morning wherein he stated that rookie WR Treylon Burks is struggling with asthma, saying, “It’s unfortunate what happened. He’s got asthma. It happens.” (Source: Buck Reising on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact: Reports of Burks’ struggles in recent workouts have been concerning, but there is hope regarding his status in the future. Sometimes, adjusting to the NFL schedule and expectations can be difficult, and having asthma doesn’t help. This should have minimal impact on his fantasy status, and if there is a drop in ADP because of this, fantasy managers should grab him.
