Commanders CB Emmanuel Forbes is officially inactive for a Week 13 matchup with the Dolphins.

Forbes will miss his second consecutive game due to an elbow injury. The rookie corner back will likely be replaced by Danny Johnson in a tough matchup with the Dolphins’ wide receivers.

Commanders coach Ron Rivera said the elbow injury CB Emmanuel Forbes suffered against the Giants was "pretty significant" and that they'll consult doctors about when he'll be ready to return.

Forbes did not play last Thursday against the Cowboys on a short week. It is possible he is placed on the IR if he can't return any time soon.

According to Ben Standig of The Athletic, rookie DB Emmanuel Forbes has had a good start to his training camp, being active in coverage and learning his body better.

Forbes was drafted in the middle of the first round based on his instincts and knack for the ball in coverage. At 173 pounds, Forbes has his limitations as a defender based on his frame, but Standig said Forbes is learning what he can and can't do with his build. If Forbes can continue to develop as a consistent coverage defender, he can thrive as a ball-hawking corner despite his size.

The Washington Commanders have selected CB Emmanuel Forbes with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Commanders add Forbes to a cornerback room led currently by Kendall Fuller and Benjamin St-Juste. Forbes has great instincts and ball recognition and should end up with his fair share of interceptions.
