According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, QB Chris Streveler cleared the league's waivers after being cut by the New York Jets and was reverted to their injury reserve.

Streveler was waived with an injury designation and, now on IR, will miss his 2023 campaign due to the injury. The Jets moved him to IR to open up a roster spot, which they used to claim OT Grant Hermanns off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Streveler will rehab this season and prepare for 2024.

Streveler was entering his second season with the Jets, after appearing in two regular season games in 2022. The 28-year-old will now look to catch on with another team for the remainder of training camp and the preseason. The Jets currently have Zach Wilson and Tim Boyle as the quarterbacks behind Aaron Rodgers.

Chris Streveler was elevated to the Jets active roster for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.

After Streveler entered last week's game against the Jaguars and ran for 54 yards, it will be interesting to see if the Jets use him in a Taysom Hill like role. This does raise slight concern for those who were planning on starting Mike White.

Streveler also took nine carries for 54 yards on the ground. He took over for Zach Wilson in the third quarter and led the Jets on more yards in his first drive than Zach Wilson did in the seven drives he led. Next week against the Seahawks, it will be Mike White undercenter if he is healthy. Otherwise, it'll be either Streveler or potentially Joe Flacco.

After initially being released by them, Chris Streveler is joining the Jets practice squad.

Streveler was waived by the Jets after an impressive preseason where he completed 24 of 33 passes for 277 yards and five touchdowns to one interception. He will be an insurance option on the practice squad for the Jets quarterback room.
